Tablet for The Story of Old Tippler's Pavilion

 The Story of Old Tippler's Pavilion was written by Ouyang Xiu in the 6th year during the reign of Emperor Renzong in the Song Dynasty (1046). It was written in November, 1091, when Su Shi was the governor of Yingzhou, at the request of Wang Zhao, the governor of Chuzhou. Old Tippler's Pavilion is located in Langya Mountain, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province. In the fifth year during the reign of Emperor Renzong (1045), Ouyang Xiu was relegated to Chuzhou and met the monk who presided over the Langya Temple in Langya Mountain. In order to facilitate his visit, the monk built this pavilion. Ouyang Xiu named it Old Tippler's Pavilion and wrote an essay on this. This essay Old Tippler's Pavilion depicts the beauty of the landscape in Chuzhou and the joy of traveling with friends, reflecting Ouyang Xiu's attitude to life after being demoted.
