Meishan San Su Shrine Museum

more
Located in Shahuhang Street, Dongpo District, Meishan City, the Meishan San Su Shrine Museum is the former residence of Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe, three famous literary scholars and also three generations in the Su Family in the Northern Song Dynasty. Originally the residence of the Su Family, this dwelling house was transformed into an ancestral hall in the Yuan Dynasty but was later destroyed in warfare in the late Ming Dynasty. In the fourth year during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1665), it was rebuilt in situ into a hall for people to memorize scholars of the Su Family and a humanistic tourist attraction.

San Su Monument

The exhibition is about the life and literary achievements of three Sus. It covers two floors with a total area of about 2,000 square meters. In 2016, the exhibition of the Su Monument was comprehensively upgraded by the museum. Text, pictures, objects, scenes, multimedia, and other items are used to comprehensively display the life and literary achievements of three scholars in the Su Family.

Dongpo Academy

The Dongpo Academy was jointly built by CPC Meishan Municipal Committee. Meishan Municipal People's Government, and Sichuan University and was inaugurated in 2020. With two courtyards, green bricks, and tiles, it is simple while elegant. The main building is divided into the Hall of Rites and the Lecture Hall. The building is designed with the ancient celebrity Su Shi as the cultural symbol. Its aim is to "admire the sages, pass on the cultural heritage, learn from the past and innovate in the present", and to promote the literary pursuits of Meizhou by placing equal emphasis on literature and morality.
