Tablet for Pavilion of Plenty and Happiness

On Pavilion of Plenty and Happiness was written by Ouyang Xiu in the 6th year during the reign of Emperor Renzong in the Song Dynasty (1046). It was written by Su Shi who was the governor of Yingzhou in the 6th year during the reign of Emperor Zhezong in the Song Dynasty (1091). This is located beside the Ziwei Spring at the foot of Fengshan Mountain, Chuzhou, Anhui Province. It was built by Ouyang Xiu when he was demoted to Chuzhou. On Pavilion of Plenty and Happiness is divided into three parts. Firstly, it outlines Ouyang Xiu's political experience in Chuzhou. He liked to explore the quiet spring and build Pavilion of Plenty and Happiness. Secondly, it focuses on the process from war to peace in Chuzhou and he cherished the hard-earned stability of life, and finally expressed his gratitude to the emperor for his peaceful and stable life, and hoped that the country can maintain long-term stability.
