As one in the family of large arbors, Phoebe zhennan is a kind of unique, precious timber in China and are the main species of evergreen broad-leaved forests. Phoebe zhennan can reach a maximum of more than 30 meters, with a diameter at a middle height of 1 meter and a straight trunk.

Ancestral Temple of the Three Sus is home to two municipal-level Grade I protected Phoebe zhennan trees and one Grade III protected Phoebe zhennan tree.
