Silk tree is a kind of deciduous tree, up to 16m high at max. It has a grayish-black trunk, twigs, inflorescences, and rachis covered with fluff or pubescence.

There is one municipal-level Class III protected Silk tree in Meishan San Su Shrine Museum.
